It was announced recently that Chris Colfer, co-star of the Emmy award winning television show, Glee was nominated for an Emmy Award again. Chris was nominated for an Emmy for his work on Glee in 2010. He has been recognized with a Golden Globe, and various Screen Actor's Guild awards. When Chris won the Golden Globe, he was the youngest person to ever receive the award.
Chris won the Golden Globe in 2010 for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a series. Chris dedicated the award for all the kids that watch the show who have been bullied. He then encouraged kids that are bullied to refuse to allow their bullies to get them down.
Chris has said that he was bullied as a kid while growing up in Clovis, CA. Clovis is a small city near Fresno, CA, that is notoriously conservative. Chris said that he remembers the people that bullied him in high school. Although he is still bitter about being bullied as a child he decided to bring awareness of the problem rather than lash out at those who bullied him.
In the summer of 2011, he also began production on a movie that he wrote the script for called Struck By Lightening, the comedy is scheduled to be released in 2012. Chris is a talented actor, singer, and has an eclectic mix of other talents. Chris went to high school in Clovis, CA, a city within the Fresno Metropolitan area.
Leaving Glee
In in role on Glee, Chris's character Kurt Hummel will be a senior in high school for Glee's third season. The producer of Glee has said that he would allow the characters entering their senior year on the show to graduate.
Chris Colfer, Lea Michele, and Cory Monteith, will all be leaving the cast of Glee at the end of the third season. Ryan Murphy, the creator of Glee has said that season three will involves many plot lines dealing with these characters' plans on life after graduation.
Glee Popularity
Glee has been very successful in it's first three seasons. The show was first envisioned as a film by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Glee is based on students at an American high school called William McKinley High School, who participate in Glee club. The cast of Glee portrays various misfits and jocks that attempt to gain recognition against athletic departments and athletes.
The Glee club adviser, Will (played by Mathew Morrison) is passionate about music. Under Will's leadership the members of the Glee club are motivated to be the best they can be and compete against other clubs for recognition. In addition to Chris Colfer's character Kurt Hummel, there is Fin Hudson played by Cory Monteith. Finn is the quarterback of the football team and very popular. He joined the glee club because the director, Will blackmailed him into joining but he realized that he actually enjoyed the club.
Cast of Glee
Puck is a character on Glee that harasses members of the club, like Finn Puck plays on the football team. (Puck is played by Mark Salling) Quinn Fabray (portrayed by actress Dianna Agron) was involved in a love triangle of sorts with Finn and Puck. A cheerleader and very attractive Quinn was dating Finn when she had sex with Puck. Quinn found out that she was pregnant and told Finn that the child was his. Finn eventually found out the truth and broke up with Quinn.
Rachel Berry is portrayed by Lea Michele. Rachel is passionate about singing and Glee club. Rachel falls for Finn shortly after Finn joins Glee club. They have an off and on relationship but are deeply in love. The third season of Glee will be their last year together and Rachel must decide if she wants to move away to New York to pursue a career on Broadway or stay in town to be with Finn.
Each show includes multiple musical performances by the various characters.
Support of the television program has lead to the successful release of the musical performances on iTunes.
Neil Patrick Harris was recognized with an Emmy award for Outstanding Guest Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series, for his appearance in the pilot episode. Neil Patrick Harris is also an openly gay actor who began acting at a young age.
Early Start as an Actor
The 21 year old Chris Colfer grew up near Fresno, CA, in the city of Clovis, CA. He began acting early. As a young man, Chris starred in productions of Russel Fish: The Sausage and Eggs Incident, The Sound of Music, and a spoof of Sweeney Todd.

I don't follow Glee, but I think it's fun when you live in an area and someone from your city makes it into the 'well known' spotlight.

Yae, I got an 80% on the quiz. I love Glee and I love Chris. My family and I make it a ritual to watch Glee together. Even our teenage boy gets into it. Great article about him and I will miss him.
